The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially released RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 notification, announcing a significant opportunity for aspiring candidates to join the Indian Railways as Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP). RRB has released total 9,970 vacancies across various railway zones in India. The online application process commenced on April 12, 2025, and has been extended until May 19, 2025. Educational Qualification :
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation/SSLC along with:
- An ITI certificate in relevant trades, or
- A Diploma in Engineering disciplines.

RRB ALP 2025 Application Process
The candidates have to submit online application form to get registered for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2025. Candidates can apply online for RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 when registration starts on 12th April 2025. The deadline to fill out application forms will be 19th May 2025. The candidates must submit their duly filled application form before the last date. The candidate can apply only for 1 RRB, in case of multiple applications, the candidate will be rejected for further RRB exams.

- Click on the Apply link.
- Login to your account or Create a new account if you don’t have an account.
- Once created, click on the link to apply for the RRB ALP exam.
- Fill the application form with correct details.
- Upload the required documents and photographs.
- Once submitted, note down the registration number for future purpose.

- General/OBC candidates: ₹500
- SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PWDs/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Class: ₹250
RRB ALP 2025 Selection Process
The selection process for the RRB ALP 2025 comprises the following stages :
- First Stage (CBT 1) :
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Questions: 75 (Objective type)
- Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness on Current Affairs
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd for each incorrect answer
- Second Stage (CBT 2) :
- Part A: 100 questions (90 minutes)
- Part B: 75 questions (60 minutes)
- Subjects include relevant trade syllabus and general subjects
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) :
- Only for those candidates who have opted for ALP
- There is No negative marking
- Document Verification and Medical Test :
- Candidates who qualify CBAT will be called for document verification and medical fitness tests.

RRB ALP 2025 Salary and Benefits
As per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay scale, the starting salary for an Assistant Loco Pilot ranges from Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 35,000 per month. In addition to the basic pay the candidates will be entitled to allowances such as :
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- Running Allowance (Based on the km travelled)
- Transport Allowance
- New Pension Scheme (10% Deduction) etc.
RRB ALP 2025 Medical Standards
Candidates must meet A1 medical standard, which includes :
- Visual Acuity: 6/6, 6/6 with or without glasses
- Color Vision: Must pass the Ishihara test
- Other Requirements: No hearing impairment, no night blindness, and must be physically fit to carry out duties.
RRB ALP 2025 Admit Card
The candidates whose applications are submitted successfully will be issued with RRB ALP 2025 Admit Card around 4 days before the exam date. RRB will also provide the candidates with city intimation facilities around 10 days before the exam date. The information will also be shared through registered SMS and email.
RRB ALP 2025 Answer Key
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will release the provisional answer key after the completion of CBT 1 and CBT 2 Exams. Through which candidates can calculate their approximate marks. After analysing the objections, the final answer key will be released.
