Educational Qualification 
A full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) is required from a university/institute recognized by AICTE or UGC, in the relevant discipline. 
  • Minimum Marks Requirement:
    • General/OBC/EWS: Must have secured a minimum of

Age Limit

  • Upper Age Limit: 28 years for candidates belonging to the Unreserved category.
  • Age Relaxation: Relaxations are provided for reserved categories as per government rules:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • PwBD: 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)

SAIL MT Recruitment 2025 Salary :

  • The Management Trainees(Technical) will be offered Basic Pay of ₹ 50,000/- p.m. in the pay scale of ₹ 50000-160000/-.
  • On successful completion of training of one year, the Management Trainees (Technical) will be designated as Assistant Manager in E1 grade and placed in the scale of pay of ₹ 60000-180000/-.
  • Besides Basic Pay, the Management Trainees (Technical) will also be paid Dearness Allowance.
  • They will also be entitled for perquisites under cafeteria approach and benefits such as PF, Gratuity and other allowances as per rules of the Company in vogue.
  • In addition, Company provides benefits like Leave encashment, Housing/HRA and free medical facility for self and dependents as per Company rules.
  • CTC will be approximately Rs. 16-17 Lakhs per annum (excluding PRP, location based allowances etc.) at minimum of E-1 grade. Being direct recruitment on initial basic pay, the Company will not bear any liability on account of Salary/leave salary/ pension contribution etc., of previous employment, if any.

Syllabus :

  • Domain Knowledge (Discipline Specific): Topics will cover core subjects relevant to your chosen engineering branch (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Metallurgy, etc.). For Mechanical Engineering, topics include Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, and Strength of Materials.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Topics include Percentage, Average, Time & Work, Speed Time & Distance, Data Interpretation, Simple & Compound Interest, and Profit & Loss.
  • English Language: Topics focus on Grammar (Tenses, Articles), Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms), Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, and Spotting Errors.
  • Reasoning Ability: Topics include Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, and Logical Reasoning.
  • General Awareness: Topics cover Current Affairs (National & International), Indian History and Culture, Geography, Polity, Economy, and Scientific Research.

  • For General/OBC (NCL)/EWS Candidates: Rs. 1050/-
  • For SC/ ST/ PwBD /ESM/ Departmental candidates: Rs. 300/-

Application Process :

The Steps Involved On :

  1. Online Examination (CBT): Candidates are first shortlisted based on their performance in a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The exam covers general aptitude and technical knowledge related to the relevant engineering discipline.
  2. Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI): Candidates who clear the CBT are called for a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview. These stages assess communication skills, technical knowledge, leadership qualities, and overall suitability for a managerial role at SAIL.
  3. Merit List Formulation: A final merit list is prepared based on the cumulative scores obtained by candidates in the Online Exam, GD, and Interview, weighted as 75:10:15 respectively.
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Provisionally selected candidates undergo document verification to confirm eligibility and must clear a medical fitness test as per SAIL’s standards.
