SCC GD Recruitment 2026

SSC GD 2026 notification has been officially released for 25,487 vacancies, and the online application process has started. Eligible candidates can apply on the official Staff Selection Commission (SSC) website until December 31, 2025. The Staff Selection Commission of India conducts the SSC GD exam annually to select candidates for the General Duty Constable positions in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF, and NCB. This is a good opportunity for 10th class or equivalent male & female candidates who wish to join paramilitary forces.

Vacancies :

A total of 25,487 vacancies have been announced for the posts of Constable (GD) in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. 
    • Male Candidates: 23,467 vacancies
    • Female Candidates: 2,020 vacancies 
These vacancies are distributed across forces including BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, and SSF. The largest number of openings is in the CISF (14,595 posts).

Eligibility :

Candidates must meet specific criteria regarding nationality, education, and age as of the cutoff date (usually January 1, 2026). 
  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th standard) examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • Age Limit: The age of the applicant must be between 18 and 23 years as of January 1, 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Relaxations in the upper age limit are provided for reserved categories as per government rules:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after deduction of military service)

Age Limit:

  • Minimum : 18 years
  • Maximum : 23 years.

Exam Pattern :

The selection process begins with a Computer-Based Examination (CBE). This exam is an objective-type paper consisting of 80 questions, each carrying 2 marks. The total exam duration is 60 minutes.
There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

General Intelligence & Reasoning Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, arithmetic reasoning, figural classification, non-verbal series, coding and decoding.
General Knowledge & General Awareness India and its neighboring countries, sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research.
Elementary Mathematics Number Systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Time and Work.
English/Hindi Basic comprehension and writing ability, fill in the blanks, error spotting, synonyms, antonyms, sentence structure.

Application Process :

  1. One-Time Registration (OTR): New users must first register on the new SSC website at ssc.gov.in by providing basic details such as name, parent’s name, mobile number, email ID, Aadhar number, and educational qualifications.
  2. Login and Apply: After successful registration, candidates must log in using their credentials and click on the “Apply” link under the “Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination 2026” section.
  3. Fill Application Form: Complete the detailed application form, ensuring all personal and educational details match official documents.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport-size photograph (taken after September 1, 2025, without spectacles/caps) and a signature in the specified format.
  5. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee of ₹100 if applicable (SC, ST, Female, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted) through online modes like UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit cards.
  6. Submission and Print: Review the application carefully, submit it, and take a printout of the final confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates who clear the CBE are called for the PET and PST. 
  • PET (Race):
    • Male: 5 km in 24 minutes (or 1.6 km in 6.5 minutes for specific regions).
    • Female: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes (or 800 meters in 4 minutes for specific regions).
  • PST (Measurements):
    • Height (Male): 170 cm (Relaxation for specific categories).
    • Height (Female): 157 cm (Relaxation for specific categories).
